Celebrating Excellence and Partnership at the 2026 ZAMREN Awards Gala Dinner

The 2026 ZAMREN Week and AGM came to a memorable close in Livingstone as delegates, partners and member institutions gathered at the Radisson Blu Hotel for the prestigious Awards Gala Dinner, an evening dedicated to celebrating excellence, consistency and reliability from ZAMREN’s member institutions.

More than just an awards night, the gala dinner reflected the spirit of this year’s theme, “Growing Together,” bringing together institutions that continue to play a critical role in advancing digital transformation, connectivity and knowledge sharing across the country through our network.

Speaking during the event, Guest of Honour and Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary – Administration, Mrs. Joma T. Simuyi, commended ZAMREN and its member

institutions for their continued commitment towards strengthening digital inclusion and partnerships in Zambia’s education and research ecosystem.

The evening recognised institutions that stood out as ZAMREN’s Most Reliable Member Institutions for the year ended 2025 across various categories.

Among the institutions honoured were the University of Zambia in the Public Universities category, University of Lusaka in the Private Universities category, and Evelyn Hone College in the Public Colleges category.

Other award recipients included Chipata College of Education, Northern Technical College, Lusaka College of Nursing and Midwifery, Baobab College, Chengelo School, Mpelembe Secondary School, Examinations Council of Zambia and Zambia College of Agriculture-Mpika.

The highlight of the evening was the recognition of Levy Mwanawasa Medical University as the 2025 ZAMREN Member of the Year, a reflection of the institution’s continued commitment.
